MT5 on a Windows VPS needs about 4 GB of RAM before it runs comfortably, and the four trading VPS entry plans compared here list at $29.99 to about $41 a month on 25 September 2026. MetaQuotes’ own hosting costs less, $15 for a month, because you rent a sandboxed terminal rather than a Windows server: one account’s EAs, no DLLs, and no direct access. Between those two points, the price difference buys four things a live account notices: error-correcting memory, included backups, a short network path to the broker’s trade server, and a written answer to what happens when the server goes down.
The four plans are ranked by entry-plan monthly list price. QuantVPS VPS Starter costs $29.99 from a futures-oriented provider and excludes backups on that tier. VPSForexTrader Smart costs $31.99 and is the only entry plan here that combines ECC memory, three CPU cores, and included backups. ForexVPS.net Core lists at $40, with 22 locations and no published memory type. BeeksFX Bronze costs £31 before VAT, with 2,560 MB of RAM and pricing in pounds only. MetaQuotes Virtual Hosting appears as an unranked baseline.
Every figure comes from the providers’ own pages on 25 September 2026, and monthly, annual, and coupon prices are never mixed in one comparison, because the ranking changes with the billing period. The guide is written for retail traders running one to ten MT4 or MT5 terminals with Expert Advisors that must keep working while nobody watches the screen. It covers infrastructure only; no Forex VPS improves a strategy, and nothing here is financial advice.
TL;DR
QuantVPS VPS Starter has the lowest monthly list price among the four at $29.99. It pairs 2 AMD EPYC cores and 4 GB of DDR4 ECC memory with 50 GB of NVMe storage, no backups on this tier, and a 99.999 percent SLA. VPSForexTrader Smart costs $31.99 a month, or $25.59 on 12-month billing under a current promotional discount, for 3 AMD EPYC cores, 4 GB of ECC RAM, 120 GB of high-availability NVMe storage, weekly backups, and Windows Server 2025. It offers a $0.99 three-day trial and no SLA. ForexVPS.net Core lists at $40 for 2 CPU cores, 4 GB of RAM, and 100 GB of storage across 22 locations, with a 99.99 percent SLA in its terms and no published memory type. BeeksFX Bronze costs £31 before VAT, about $40.98, for 1 vCPU, 2,560 MB of RAM, and 30 GB of SSD, below the 4 GB floor, with no published SLA. MetaQuotes Virtual Hosting costs $15 for one month and allocates up to 3 GB inside a sandbox that forbids DLLs and allows one trading account.
Methodology
Timeframe: figures were captured on 25 September 2026 from the providers’ own pricing, hardware, terms, and location pages [1] to [13]. ForexVPS.net’s yearly and checkout terms, the BeeksFX listings, and Microsoft’s support dates were rechecked on 28 September 2026.
Sources: provider pages; MetaQuotes and Microsoft documentation [13] [14] [15]; Equinix facility pages [16]; brokers’ own server-location statements [11] [12]; AMD datasheets [18]; and a peer-reviewed memory-error study [17]. VPSForexTrader details absent from its public site, such as CPU models by city, come from the company and are cited as first-party [4].
Evaluation dimensions: monthly and 12-month price, CPU cores, RAM and documented ECC, storage and backups, Windows image, uptime commitment, refund and trial terms, locations and named facilities, and vendor-published latency.
Ordering rationale: entry-plan monthly list price in US dollars, lowest first, with GBP converted at the ECB reference rate of 24 September 2026, 1 GBP to 1.3220 USD [19]. MetaQuotes is unranked because it rents a sandboxed terminal, not a Windows server.
Benchmark caveat: no latency or uptime figure here was independently measured; vendor figures are labelled vendor-published, and no independently audited latency test from any of the four was found.
What MT5 needs from a Windows VPS
Microsoft sets the floor before MetaTrader loads: Windows Server 2025 with the Desktop Experience needs 2 GB of RAM, and Microsoft recommends 4 GB [15]. Each MT5 terminal then adds roughly 400 to 500 MB with a handful of charts, more with indicators over long histories; MetaQuotes warns that large bar counts with several indicators can exhaust free RAM and CPU quickly [14]. The terminal figure is a practitioner sizing rule, not a MetaQuotes number, so this guide treats 4 GB as the practical floor for Windows plus one to four terminals.
Core count matters less than it looks. MetaQuotes documents that each Expert Advisor, script, and service runs in its own thread, while all indicators on one symbol share a single thread [14]. One EA therefore works on about one core at a time, and per-core clock speed decides how quickly its tick handler finishes. Extra cores pay off when several EAs or terminals run side by side, since a release such as US payrolls or CPI at 8:30 a.m. Eastern hits every EA at once [19].
Error-correcting memory is the least visible specification. In Google’s fleet study, about a third of machines saw at least one memory error per year, and more than 8 percent of DIMMs were affected annually [17]. Microsoft lists ECC or similar technology for physical Windows Server 2025 hosts [15]. On a VPS the memory belongs to the host, so only the provider’s documentation answers the question: VPSForexTrader lists ECC on each plan card [1], and QuantVPS states that all its servers use ECC, DDR4 3200 on the Starter tier [5]. ForexVPS.net, BeeksFX, and MetaQuotes publish no memory type [7] [9] [13].
The Windows image is the last check. Evaluation media expires after 180 days and must be activated online within 10 days to avoid automatic shutdown [15], so the plan should include a licensed image. VPSForexTrader and QuantVPS state that Windows comes pre-installed [1] [5]; with the other two, confirm licensing at order. Only VPSForexTrader ships Windows Server 2025 as the default image [1] [5] [7] [9].
Where the server sits: building, metro, and measured latency
The latency that matters is the round trip from the VPS to your broker’s trade server, and brokers publish where that server is. IC states that its MetaTrader 4 and 5 servers are in the NY4 data centre in New York [12], and FxPro states that its trades execute at Equinix LD4 in London [11]. A city label is only a starting point, because Equinix London and Equinix New York are groups of separate buildings. LD4 sits on the Slough Trading Estate west of London and LD3 in Park Royal, northwest London; NY4 (755 Secaucus Road) and NY2 (275 Hartz Way) are both in Secaucus, New Jersey [16].
Providers name buildings to different degrees. VPSForexTrader names Equinix LD3, Equinix NY2 on the Secaucus campus, Equinix HK4, and Serverius for Amsterdam [2], and the company states that the Serverius facility is in Meppel, in the northeast Netherlands [4]. ForexVPS.net’s latency page names Equinix NY4 and Equinix TY8, and gives London without a building code [8]. The Beeks group’s data-centre list includes LD4 and NY4 [10], while its retail store shows city names only [9]. QuantVPS’s headline figure, 0.52 ms to CME from Chicago, describes futures routing rather than a path to a forex broker [5].
Vendor tables show what one metro hop costs. VPSForexTrader’s London table, timestamped 25 September 2026 at 00:00 UTC, lists 1 ms to LMAX and Forex Club, 1.13 ms to ET Global, and 1.18 ms to Broctagon from LD3. Its New York table (03:01 UTC) lists 1.19 to 1.51 ms from NY2 to FP Markets, Go Markets, Pepperstone, and TMGM, and the Meppel node reads 3.11 to 3.89 ms to four listed broker servers [2]. The company says the tables come from MT4 and MT5 connections to broker servers [4]; they are vendor-published, not independent measurements.
The practical rule: find your broker’s server location on the broker’s own site, then read the ping in the MT5 connection status from the VPS itself during a trial or refund window. A figure measured from your own terminal outranks every table in this guide.
Price states, refunds, and what an SLA pays
The monthly list is the only price every provider shows, which is why it sets the ranking. Longer terms reorder the field and add upfront risk. VPSForexTrader Smart’s 12-month rate, under a current promotional discount, means $307.10 paid upfront [1]. ForexVPS.net Core costs $32 a month billed yearly ($384 upfront), or $25.60 ($307.20) with a new-customer coupon [7], and BeeksFX takes £310 for a year, two months free [9]. QuantVPS offers no annual rate [5]. MetaQuotes’ main hosting page and its plans page quote different 12-month prices, $10 and $12.80 a month [13].
Exit terms decide how much of that is at risk. VPSForexTrader refunds paid plans within 14 days, excluding trials [3]. QuantVPS’s 14-day guarantee covers new subscriptions bought without a coupon or discount [6]. ForexVPS.net offers 14 days on VPS plans, and its terms make discounted products nonrefundable [8]. BeeksFX refunds cancellations within 24 hours of purchase, after which its 30-day contract term applies [9].
An SLA is a billing formula, not downtime insurance. A 99.9 percent figure permits 8.76 hours (525.6 minutes) of downtime a year, 99.99 percent permits 52.6 minutes, and 99.999 percent about 5.3 minutes. QuantVPS sets 99.999 percent for VPS, about 26.3 seconds a month [6]. Credits start at 10 percent of the monthly fee when uptime falls below that but stays at or above 99.9 percent, and reach 100 percent below 95 percent [6]. Claims are due within 30 days of the month’s end, a weekly maintenance window is excluded, and its terms of service exclude uptime guarantees unless separately contracted, so confirm the SLA covers your order [6]. ForexVPS.net guarantees 99.99 percent for network, data centre, and power, with credits from 10 percent at 99.8 percent up to 100 percent below 99.0 percent, excluding upstream-provider failures [8]. VPSForexTrader and BeeksFX publish no SLA, and both sets of terms disclaim liability for outages [3] [9]. MetaQuotes markets a maximum uptime of 99.99 percent and makes no guarantee of smooth operation [13].

The MetaQuotes baseline (unranked)
MetaQuotes Virtual Hosting is rented from inside the MT5 terminal. It runs a synchronized copy of your EAs, indicators, and charts on MetaQuotes’ network, with up to 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of disk allocated on demand [13]. One month costs $15; for 12 months the main hosting page shows $10 a month and the separate plans page $12.80 [13]. The rules are strict. A rented terminal works with one trading account, any DLL call stops the program with a critical error, and the user has no physical access to the machine, which rules out Task Manager, Python, and third-party tools [13]. Marketing promises a maximum uptime of 99.99 percent, while the rules state that the service “makes no guarantees of the Virtual terminals’ smooth operation” [13]. The pages also disagree on money: the main page offers a 24-hour free trial, the plans page describes a full refund for cancelling within 24 hours, and the rules say cancelled paid rent is not refunded [13]. Confirm the current terms inside the terminal before paying.
QuantVPS VPS Starter: $29.99 a month

Infrastructure tier: trading VPS whose marketing leads with futures platforms and CME latency; AMD EPYC 7003 on the Starter tier.
Operator: QuantVPS, headquartered in Delaware, USA, per its site; no legal entity is named in its terms; states “10+ yrs in operation”.
QuantVPS leads with futures. Its pricing FAQ lists NinjaTrader, Sierra Chart, TradeStation, Quantower, and Tradovate alongside MT4 and MT5, and its Chicago location is marketed at 0.52 ms to CME over a direct fibre cross-connect [5]. VPS Starter costs $29.99 a month for 2 AMD EPYC cores, 4 GB of DDR4 memory, 50 GB of NVMe storage, and a 1 Gbps port with 10 Gbps burst, on Windows or Linux [5]. The hardware page places Starter in the Budget VPS group, with AMD EPYC 7003 processors and DDR4 3200 ECC memory [5]. Windows Server 2022 comes pre-installed, and the help centre lists Windows Server 2025 among reinstall options [5] [6]. Backups are not included on Starter; the $39.99 Starter+ plan moves to AMD Ryzen with DDR5 ECC and adds automatic backups [5]. Its seven locations are Chicago, New York, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Tokyo [5]. With no trial and no annual rate, the 14-day guarantee on full-price new subscriptions is the window for measuring latency to your broker [6].
Strengths: the lowest monthly list price among the four at $29.99; ECC memory documented on its hardware page, DDR4 3200 on EPYC 7003; a 99.999 percent VPS SLA with a published credit schedule; seven locations, including Dublin, Frankfurt, and Tokyo; Windows or Linux on the same plan.
Limitations: no backups on Starter, so automatic backups cost $10 more a month on Starter+; 50 GB of storage, against 100 GB and 120 GB on the other 4 GB plans here; no annual discount and no trial; the refund guarantee excludes coupon and discounted purchases; its terms of service exclude uptime guarantees unless separately contracted, so confirm the SLA covers your order.
VPSForexTrader Smart: $31.99 a month

Infrastructure tier: forex-specialist VPS on a KVM high-availability cloud with AMD EPYC hosts in four cities.
Operator: HOSTLINE, UAB, Vilnius, Lithuania, operating since 2011
VPSForexTrader Smart is a Windows Server 2025 VPS for MetaTrader, rated by the provider for up to four MT4 or MT5 terminals. Smart provides 3 AMD EPYC cores, 4 GB of ECC RAM, 120 GB of high-availability NVMe storage, and weekly backups for $31.99 a month before VAT, or $25.59 a month on 12-month billing under a current promotional discount [1]. It runs in London (Equinix LD3), New York (Equinix NY2), Hong Kong (Equinix HK4), and Amsterdam (Serverius), with vendor-published round trips of 1 to 1.51 ms from London and New York to named broker servers on 25 September 2026 [2]. No other entry plan in this comparison has three CPU cores, and at $31.99 Smart is the lowest-priced plan here, at any tier, that documents both ECC memory and included backups. For one to four terminals where backups and a trial matter more than an SLA, Smart covers the 4 GB floor for $307.10 a year at the promotional 12-month rate, against $359.88 in twelve monthly QuantVPS Starter payments.
The 24-month rate, which the company also describes as a temporary discount, is $19.19 a month, $460.66 upfront [1] [4]. According to the company, hosts never allocate more CPU or memory to virtual machines than they physically have, and traffic on the 1 Gbps port is not capped [4]. London and Amsterdam hosts run AMD EPYC 7702P processors, and New York and Hong Kong hosts run EPYC 7443 [4]. AMD rates the 7702P at up to 3.35 GHz boost and the 7443 at up to 4 GHz, both on DDR4 3200 [18]. Boost ($54.99, or $41.24 on 12 months) adds 6 cores, 6 GB of ECC RAM, and daily backups for up to seven terminals; Max ($79.99, or $59.99) gives 8 cores and 8 GB for up to ten [1].
Paid plans carry a 14-day money-back guarantee [3]. The homepage states that servers are not suspended on active forex trading days even when a payment is overdue, a policy the company applies to paid plans rather than trials [1] [4]. Payment options are cards, PayPal, and cryptocurrency [1]. Location pages market 99.99 percent uptime, but the Terms give no uptime figure and disclaim liability for outages, so there is no SLA and no credit [2] [3].
Best for one to four MT5 terminals near brokers in London, New York, Amsterdam, or Hong Kong, where included backups and a low-cost trial matter more than a written uptime credit. Less ideal if you need a contractual SLA, a broker server outside those four metros, or Linux.
Strengths: three AMD EPYC cores at the entry tier, the only three-core entry plan here; 4 GB of ECC RAM and 120 GB of high-availability NVMe with weekly backups at $31.99, or $25.59 on 12-month billing under a current promotional discount; Windows Server 2025; a $0.99 three-day trial plus a 14-day money-back guarantee on paid plans; vendor-published round trips of 1 to 1.51 ms from London and New York to named broker servers on 25 September 2026.
Limitations: no SLA, since its Terms give no uptime figure and disclaim liability for outages, where QuantVPS and ForexVPS.net publish credit schedules; London and Amsterdam run the older EPYC 7702P at up to 3.35 GHz, so single-thread speed is higher in New York and Hong Kong; backups on Smart are weekly, and daily backups start at Boost ($54.99); MetaTrader is not pre-installed and there is no Linux option.
ForexVPS.net Core: $40 a month

Infrastructure tier: forex-specialist VPS network across 22 locations.
Operator: ThinkHuge Ltd. (dba ForexVPS.net), Hong Kong; copyright line dated from 2013; the same company operates FXVM.
ForexVPS.net is a forex-specialist VPS brand run by ThinkHuge Ltd. from Hong Kong, and FXVM’s footer and terms name the same company and address [8]. Core lists at $40 a month for 2 CPU cores, 4 GB of memory, and 100 GB of storage [7]. Its plan table lists Windows Server 2022, 2019, and 2016, while its checkout also offers Windows 2025, with 2022 selected by default [7]. Billed yearly, Core costs $32 a month, $384 in total; on 25 September 2026 an extra 20 percent new-customer coupon lowered that to $25.60, $307.20 in total [7]. Its plan cards include 22 locations, and the homepage map runs from Los Angeles, Toronto, and São Paulo to Johannesburg, Mumbai, Dubai, Seoul, and Sydney [7]. Marketing pairs a 100 percent uptime guarantee with automated backups, and footnotes the guarantee to an SLA below 99.99 percent; the terms define the commitment as 99.99 percent for network, data centre, and power each month [7] [8]. The checkout lists daily data backups as a $10-a-month add-on, off by default [7]. Its latency page lists vendor-published figures of 1 ms from New York to Pepperstone and ACY Securities and 1 ms from London to ActivTrades and Admiral Markets [8]. The page carries no date stamp and notes that the tests used MT4 servers rather than MT5 [8]. VPS plan cards state no CPU model, memory type, or storage media, and MetaTrader auto-startup and dedicated hardware resources appear on its dedicated-server plans rather than the VPS cards [7]. There is no trial; the free VPS offer requires 1 to 5 lots a month and a $50 to $200 balance with a partner broker, depending on the broker [7].
Strengths: 22 locations, including Mumbai, Johannesburg, São Paulo, and Seoul, none of which another provider here covers; a 99.99 percent SLA written into its terms with a credit table; a $32 12-month rate, or $25.60 for new customers while the coupon runs; a 14-day money-back guarantee on VPS plans.
Limitations: no published CPU model, memory type, or storage media on VPS plans, so ECC cannot be confirmed; the $40 monthly list is the highest US-dollar entry price here; the lowest rate depends on a coupon, and its terms make discounted products nonrefundable; Windows Server 2022 is the default image, and 2025 appears only as a checkout option; daily backups cost $10 a month extra at checkout; no trial, and the free VPS requires trading volume with a partner broker; ThinkHuge Ltd. operates both ForexVPS.net and FXVM, so splitting accounts across the two brands does not diversify the operator.
BeeksFX Bronze: £31 a month

Infrastructure tier: institutional trading-infrastructure group with a retail VPS store.
Operator: Beeks Financial Cloud Group plc, traded on the London Stock Exchange’s AIM market (AIM: BKS), incorporated in Scotland.
Beeks Financial Cloud Group sells colocation, connectivity, and cloud infrastructure to trading firms, and its shares trade on AIM [10]. Its retail store sells Bronze, Silver, and Gold VPS plans [9]. Two brokers point clients to it: FxPro states that its client VPS is provided by BeeksFX, and Tickmill offers BeeksFX plans at a 20 percent discount [11]. Bronze costs £31.00 a month before VAT, about $40.98, or £310 a year with two months free [9]. It provides 1 vCPU, 2,560 MB of RAM, and 30 GB of SSD storage. Beeks rates it for 2 to 4 MetaTrader platforms on its store listing, while the product page recommends three instances with about 9 to 10 charts in total; the group’s own VPS page shows £32 [9]. The first tier at the 4 GB floor is Silver, with 2 vCPUs, 4,096 MB, and 50 GB for £55.00, about $72.71 [9]. Payment is in British pounds unless another currency is agreed [9]. The store lists Windows Server 2022 in six cities: London, New York, Chicago, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, with Ubuntu 24 in London and New York [9]. Plans include cTrader and cAlgo support and a managed VPS option, and the store sells cross-connects to venues in NY4 and LD5 [9]. Setup times conflict: the store listing promises deployment within 1 hour during trading hours, while the product page allows 1 to 2 hours during market hours or up to 24 hours at weekends [9]. Neither the plan page nor the group’s VPS page states a backup policy or a latency figure [9]. The terms publish no uptime percentage, disclaim liability for outages, and refund only cancellations made within 24 hours of purchase [9].
Strengths: broker-linked access, with FxPro naming BeeksFX as its VPS provider and Tickmill discounting BeeksFX plans for its clients; cross-connects to trading venues orderable from the same store; cTrader and cAlgo support and a managed VPS option; six cities, including Chicago, Frankfurt, and Tokyo; annual billing at the equivalent of £25.83 a month.
Limitations: Bronze’s 2,560 MB sits below the 4 GB floor, and the 4 GB Silver tier costs £55, about $72.71; an entry tier of 1 vCPU and 30 GB of SSD; pound-only pricing; no published SLA, with outages disclaimed in its terms; refunds only within 24 hours of purchase, then a 30-day term; weekend provisioning can take up to 24 hours, per the product page.
Six mistakes that cost money when buying MT5 hosting
Comparing a coupon rate with a list price. ForexVPS.net Core’s $25.60 a month depends on a new-customer coupon and a $307.20 annual payment. Core’s own yearly rate without the coupon is $32 a month. Set against QuantVPS Starter’s $29.99 list, it looks $4.39 cheaper, yet at list Core costs $10.01 more a month, and ForexVPS.net’s terms make discounted purchases nonrefundable [7] [8]. Compare list with list, or annual with annual.
Buying below the memory floor to save the difference. BeeksFX Bronze at £31 carries 2,560 MB of RAM. Moving to the 4 GB Silver tier later costs £24 more a month, £288 over a year, and the product page allows up to 24 hours for weekend reprovisioning [9].
Assuming backups come with the plan. QuantVPS Starter includes none, and the Starter+ tier that adds automatic backups costs $10 more a month, $120 a year [5]. VPSForexTrader Smart includes weekly backups at $31.99, and Boost moves to daily [1].
Treating an SLA credit as insurance. QuantVPS’s first credit band pays 10 percent of the fee, $3.00 on a $29.99 plan, and ForexVPS.net’s pays $4.00 on a $40 plan [6] [8]. VPSForexTrader and BeeksFX pay nothing, because neither publishes an SLA [3] [9]. No credit covers the cost of a missed fill.
Committing before measuring. A $307.10 promotional annual VPSForexTrader payment is refundable only for 14 days, a BeeksFX order only for 24 hours, and a QuantVPS order only when bought at full price [3] [9] [6]. VPSForexTrader’s $0.99 trial and the MetaQuotes 24-hour trial are the only ways in this set to read your broker’s ping before paying full price [3] [13].
Inferring ECC from price. ForexVPS.net Core and BeeksFX Bronze, the two entry plans that publish no memory type, are also the two most expensive here, at $40 and about $40.98 [7] [9]. QuantVPS documents ECC at $29.99 and VPSForexTrader at $31.99 [1] [5]. The $10.01 a month that Core costs over QuantVPS Starter buys 22 locations and an SLA, not documented memory.
Which plan fits which workload
A single MQL5 EA on one account, with no DLL imports and no reason to open the machine, belongs on MetaQuotes Virtual Hosting at $15 a month [13]. The ranked plans start where that sandbox stops.
Once the setup needs a real Windows desktop, terminal count sets the tier. One to four terminals fit the 4 GB class. VPSForexTrader Smart gives three cores, ECC memory, weekly backups, and a $0.99 trial for $31.99 [1]. QuantVPS Starter gives two cores and a 99.999 percent SLA for $29.99, without backups [5]. Between those two, the deciding question is whether a written uptime credit matters more to you than backups and a trial. Five to seven terminals move up to VPSForexTrader Boost at $54.99, or $41.24 on 12 months, with 6 cores, 6 GB of ECC, and daily backups. Eight to ten fit Max at $79.99, or $59.99 on 12 months [1].
Location can override all of that. If your broker’s server sits outside London, New York, Amsterdam, and Hong Kong, in Mumbai, Johannesburg, or São Paulo for example, ForexVPS.net’s 22 locations put the VPS in the right region [7]. Traders running CME futures beside forex have a purpose-built option in QuantVPS’s Chicago location [5]. And if your broker is FxPro or Tickmill, check the BeeksFX arrangement your broker offers before buying anywhere [11].
Three findings
Resources per dollar spread far wider than prices. At monthly list, a CPU core costs $10.66 on VPSForexTrader Smart, $15.00 on QuantVPS Starter, $20.00 on ForexVPS.net Core, and about $40.98 on BeeksFX Bronze; a gigabyte of storage costs $0.27, $0.60, $0.40, and about $1.37 respectively [1] [5] [7] [9]. The four entry prices sit within $11 of each other, and the hardware behind them does not.
Processor transparency is the thinnest part of every specification sheet here. No ranked provider prints a CPU model on its VPS plan card. QuantVPS names the EPYC 7003 family on a separate hardware page [5], ForexVPS.net and BeeksFX name no processor for VPS plans [7] [9], and VPSForexTrader’s models come from the company rather than its site [4]. The model matters. On the same Smart plan, the London and Amsterdam hosts (EPYC 7702P, up to 3.35 GHz) and the New York and Hong Kong hosts (EPYC 7443, up to 4 GHz) differ by about 19 percent in boost clock [18].
Headline uptime and contract uptime disagree at four of the five services. VPSForexTrader markets 99.99 percent on its location pages while its Terms give no figure [2] [3]. QuantVPS’s SLA page promises 99.999 percent while its terms of service exclude uptime guarantees unless separately contracted [6]. ForexVPS.net’s 100 percent guarantee becomes 99.99 percent in its terms [7] [8], and MetaQuotes markets a maximum of 99.99 percent while its rules guarantee nothing [13]. Only BeeksFX is consistent, because it states no figure anywhere [9]. The terms page, not the banner, is the one to read.

VPSForexTrader rates Smart’s 4 GB of ECC RAM for up to four MT4 or MT5 terminals, Boost’s 6 GB for seven, and Max’s 8 GB for ten [1]. That matches 4 GB as the practical minimum for Windows Server 2025 plus one to four terminals. The company says the counts come from lab runs of typical EA setups on demo accounts, with no more than 12 terminals per Windows user [4]. To check your own load, open Task Manager on the VPS and read the memory used by each terminal64.exe instance. If it climbs, lower Max bars in chart under Tools, Options, Charts (the minimum is 5,000) and restart the terminal [14].
What happens to my EA if the VPS restarts?
On VPSForexTrader, a host failure restarts the affected VPSs on another node from the same replicated NVMe storage, typically within a few minutes, according to the company [4]. Weekly backups on Smart, daily on Boost and Max, cover a damaged Windows image [1]. MetaTrader itself starts at boot only if you add terminal64.exe to Windows startup or Task Scheduler, and it reopens the last saved profile, so save the profile after changing charts or EAs. Positions keep their server-side stop loss and take profit while the terminal is down, but trailing stops run inside the terminal and stop moving until it reconnects [14].
Is Windows Server 2022 still supported on a trading VPS?
VPSForexTrader avoids the question by shipping Windows Server 2025 Standard on every VPS plan [1]. For the 2022 images the other three use by default, Microsoft ends mainstream support on 13 October 2026 and security updates on 14 October 2031 [15]. After the first date the server still receives security patches but no non-security fixes. An in-place upgrade later is possible but typically takes the server offline, so pick the version at order if you plan to keep the VPS past 2026.
Which MT5 hosting providers offer a trial?
VPSForexTrader offers a $0.99 three-day trial on the Smart specification in London, New York, and Amsterdam [3]. It requires a card, is limited to one per customer, converts to $31.99 a month unless cancelled, and sits outside the 14-day money-back guarantee [3] [4]. MetaQuotes lists a 24-hour free trial [13]. QuantVPS, ForexVPS.net, and BeeksFX offer none; ForexVPS.net’s free VPS is tied to trading 1 to 5 lots a month with a partner broker, depending on the broker, a trading commitment rather than a trial [7].
Is the MetaQuotes VPS enough for my EA?
If the EA is pure MQL5, needs no DLL, trades one account, and never needs you on the machine, yes: at $15 a month it is the cheapest correct choice for that profile [13]. It copies EAs, indicators, and charts from your local terminal during synchronization, so edit locally and synchronize again after every change [13]. Accounts that log in with one-time passwords cannot use it [13]. A DLL import, a second account, Python, or a custom tool moves you to a Windows VPS.
Do I need ECC memory on a forex VPS?
For an EA that runs unattended for weeks, documented ECC is worth insisting on, and VPSForexTrader lists 4 GB of ECC RAM on its $31.99 Smart plan [1]. ECC corrects single-bit memory errors on the host and flags larger ones; without it, a flipped bit can crash the terminal or corrupt data silently. The same Google study found uncorrectable errors on 1.3 percent of machines per year, which is why ECC reduces the need for backups rather than removing it [17]. You cannot inspect a host’s memory from inside a VPS, so the provider’s documentation is the only evidence available.

Editorial note
All prices, specifications, terms, and latency tables were captured from provider pages on 25 September 2026, and the ForexVPS.net, BeeksFX, and Microsoft items were rechecked on 28 September 2026. GBP is converted at the ECB rate of 24 September 2026; prices change often, so confirm at checkout. Latency and uptime figures are vendor-published and were not independently measured. This guide covers hosting infrastructure only and does not constitute financial advice: trading performance depends on broker execution quality, market conditions, and trader skill, none of which a VPS can fully control. Factual corrections can be sent through the site’s contact page; verified corrections are applied and dated in the change log below.
