If you trade from the UK on full fibre, your home line already reaches a London server in about 5 to 7 ms. Ofcom’s latest home broadband measurements put full fibre at 4.9 to 7.3 ms, FTTC at 10.1 to 12.5 ms, cable at 12.5 to 14.8 ms and ADSL2+ at about 24 ms [1]. A Forex VPS (a rented Windows server in a data centre) in London brings the trip to a London broker down to roughly 1 to 3 ms, according to the providers’ own figures in this guide, which run from 1.06 ms to 2.75 ms.
So a London Forex VPS saves a UK trader roughly 2 to 23 ms, depending on the line. That is real, but it is smaller than most VPS adverts suggest. The bigger gain is reliability. Your Expert Advisor (EA, the automated trading program inside MetaTrader) stops depending on your home router, your PC and your power supply.
That changes what you should look for. Four things matter more than a millisecond: where your broker’s server is, when the provider does its maintenance, whether the price includes 20 percent VAT, and whether your broker would pay for a VPS anyway. We checked 15 FCA-authorised brokers on October 14, 2026. Five state a server location on their current websites, Tickmill did so only in a 2023 company post, and nine say nothing [2].
This guide compares five hosts that sell Windows VPS in London: VPSForexTrader, NYCServers, MyForexVPS, AccuWeb Hosting and Beeks. It is written for UK retail traders who run MT4 or MT5, from one EA to ten terminals.
The short version
VPSForexTrader Smart: £23.69 a month before VAT, £28.43 with it, charged in pounds. For that you get 3 AMD EPYC cores, 4 GB of ECC memory, 120 GB of NVMe and Windows Server 2025 Standard in Equinix LD3, Park Royal. No other host here states ECC memory on every plan.
NYCServers Standard: $40.00 a month in dollars (£36.18 with VAT) for 2 cores, 4 GB of DDR5, 70 GB of NVMe and Windows Server 2022 in LD4. Its planned maintenance never leaves the Friday 22:00 to Sunday 22:00 UK window.
MyForexVPS Gold: the lowest list price here at $19.99 a month (£18.08 with VAT), for 2 cores, 4 GB of memory and 70 GB of SSD storage. While British Summer Time applies, its maintenance window runs until 23:00 UK time on Sundays.
AccuWeb Hosting Forex VPS 3: 4 virtual cores and 4 GB of memory in a London site it does not name, at $26.99 for the first invoice and then $47.00 a month (£42.51 with VAT).
Beeks Silver: £55.00 a month before VAT (£66.00 with it) for 2 virtual cores, 4,096 MB of memory and 50 GB of SSD storage, refundable only within 24 hours. IG, FxPro and Tickmill point their clients to Beeks hosting.
How this comparison was built
This comparison is compiled from provider documentation, live pricing pages, public regulator and government data, and vendor-published performance data, captured on October 14 and 15, 2026. Vendor-published figures are labeled as such. Providers were evaluated on London facility disclosure, ECC memory, Windows version, published broker latency, maintenance and SLA terms in UK time, trial and refund terms, and the monthly price in pounds with 20 percent VAT for a plan with about 4 GB of memory. Where a provider does not publish a specification, the gap is stated rather than estimated.
We ranked the five by how much their public pages tell you. There are four questions, worth one point each. Which London data centre hosts the VPS? Does every plan have ECC memory? Which Windows version comes with the plan? What latency do named brokers see? VPSForexTrader answers all four, NYCServers three, MyForexVPS two, and AccuWeb and Beeks one each. AccuWeb ranks above Beeks because it publishes an uptime SLA (a written uptime promise with service credits) and Beeks does not.
If a provider does not mention ECC memory, that is a gap in what it has put in writing. It does not prove the servers lack ECC. Broker server locations come only from the brokers’ own websites. Dollar prices are converted at the European Central Bank rate for October 14, 2026, which is $1.3267 per pound [11]. No Forex VPS provider has its latency figures independently audited.
What a UK home connection already gets you
Ofcom tested UK home broadband in March 2023 with measuring units plugged into customers’ routers, timing the trip to test servers in London data centres [1]. The typical results were 4.9 to 7.3 ms on full fibre, 10.1 to 12.5 ms on FTTC, 12.5 to 14.8 ms on cable and about 24 ms on ADSL2+. Ofcom has not published a newer edition, so these are the latest official figures. They measure the trip to a test server, not to a broker.
Speed is not the weak point of a UK home setup. Dropouts and faults are. Ofcom found that 19 percent of ADSL2+ lines averaged more than two disconnections a day of 30 seconds or longer. Its customer service report counted 44 faults a month for every 1,000 broadband and landline customers in 2024. A total loss of service took one day to fix on average, and 90 percent were fixed within a week [1]. For an EA running on a home PC, a one-day outage on a Tuesday is a lost trading day.
So for most UK traders, the case for a VPS is about staying online. Moving from full fibre to a London VPS saves about 2 to 6 ms on each round trip. Moving from ADSL2+ saves about 21 to 23 ms. Those gains matter mainly to strategies that react within a few milliseconds. For swing or grid EAs, what counts is that the VPS keeps running through router restarts, broadband faults, Windows updates on your PC and power cuts. That is why this guide gives maintenance terms as much weight as latency.
Where UK brokers keep their MetaTrader servers
Only a broker can tell you where its trade server is, and most FCA-authorised firms do not say. Six firms have stated a location, five on their current websites and Tickmill only in a dated company post. Here is what they said, checked on October 14, 2026 [2]:
- CMC Markets UK plc mentions a “London-located server” on its MT4 page, without naming the building.
- FxPro UK Limited says trades are executed in its Equinix data centres in LD4, London.
- Darwinex says its servers are cross-connected to its liquidity providers in Equinix LD4.
- Tickmill named Equinix LD4 and NY4 in a 2023 company post. Its UK pages say nothing, so treat this as dated.
- Vantage UK says its live trading servers are in London and New York.
- ThinkMarkets says its servers are at “Equinix LD4 and LD5 in London and New York”, although both of those buildings are in the London area.
The other nine publish no location: IG, Pepperstone, FXCM, OANDA, FOREX.com, City Index, Axi, Capital.com, ActivTrades and Swissquote. (FOREX.com and City Index both belong to StoneX, so they count as one firm here.) You can check any of these firms on the FCA Register [2].
VPS providers’ latency tables give some clues, but treat them as the providers’ own measurements, not broker statements. On October 15, 2026, VPSForexTrader’s UK server listed Pepperstone Limited’s UK server at 2.75 ms and Swissquote Ltd’s live servers at 21.12 to 21.3 ms, which suggests Swissquote’s servers are outside London [5]. NYCServers lists FOREX.com at 1.02 ms from LD4, and MyForexVPS lists GAIN Capital UK at 0.8 ms in its UK column [6][7].
The more useful finding is sponsored hosting. Several brokers will pay for, or discount, your VPS. IG’s MT4 VPS is hosted by Beeks in London and is free if your MT4 balance is £5,000 or more, otherwise £50 a month. Pepperstone sponsors a VPS for UK clients who trade USD 1,000,000 notional in 60 days. FxPro lists BeeksFX hosting at $30 a month, free for VIP and Elite accounts, and Tickmill UK offers BeeksFX at a 20 percent discount [2].
Maintenance windows on UK time
Spot Forex has no exchange timetable, so brokers define the trading week. IG and FxPro both close for the weekend from 22:00 UK time on Friday to 22:00 UK time on Sunday, and IG reopens its own FX dealing at 21:00 on Sunday [2]. Maintenance inside that gap costs you nothing. Maintenance that runs into Sunday evening can leave your EA offline when the market opens.
NYCServers publishes the clearest policy. Its planned maintenance runs from “Friday at 5:00 PM until Sunday at 5:00 PM Eastern Time”, with at least 24 hours’ notice by email [6]. New York is five hours behind London for most of the year, so that is Friday 22:00 to Sunday 22:00 UK time: exactly the Forex weekend. Emergency work can still happen at any time.
MyForexVPS sets maintenance for Saturday and Sunday, 09:00 to 22:00 GMT, and leaves that time out of its 99.99 percent SLA [7]. While British Summer Time applies, 22:00 GMT is 23:00 UK time, an hour after the Sunday open. After the clocks go back on October 25, 2026, the window ends at 22:00 [10]. That is still an hour after IG’s 21:00 FX open.
The other three publish no window. VPSForexTrader’s London page says “We never take servers down for maintenance during active trading days” [5]. Beeks’ terms promise only best efforts to give notice [9]. AccuWeb leaves scheduled maintenance out of its 99.9 percent SLA without saying when it happens [8].
The five providers at a glance
Each row shows the plan closest to 4 GB of memory, on monthly billing, priced on October 15, 2026. The last column is the monthly cost in pounds including 20 percent VAT, using the exchange rate in the methodology. Overseas hosts selling to UK consumers must charge UK VAT [10], but none of these five explains its VAT handling publicly, so check the total at checkout.

VPSForexTrader

Infrastructure tier: managed Forex VPS on AMD EPYC with ECC memory and high-availability NVMe
Locations: Equinix LD3 London, Equinix NY2 New York, Serverius Amsterdam, Equinix HK4 Hong Kong
VPSForexTrader is first because its public pages answer all four ranking questions. It has hosted Forex VPS since 2011, and its London plan cards promise dedicated processor cores, ECC memory and NVMe storage on each server [5].
Smart is the plan most UK traders will look at first. It suits one to four MetaTrader terminals and can be billed in pounds. In LD3 you get 3 AMD EPYC cores, 4 GB of ECC memory, a 120 GB NVMe disk with automatic failover, a weekly backup and Windows Server 2025 Standard. The price before VAT is £23.69 a month, falling to £18.96 a month on a 12-month term and £14.22 a month on a 24-month term [5]. Above it, Boost (£40.73) moves to 6 cores, 6 GB of ECC memory, 180 GB and a daily backup, and covers up to seven terminals. Max (£59.25) goes to 8 cores, 8 GB and 250 GB, for up to ten.
Two things set it apart in this group. It is the only host that states ECC memory on every VPS plan, which matters because Microsoft’s Windows Server hardware requirements call for ECC, or similar technology, on physical servers [3]. It is also the only one that installs Windows Server 2025 as the standard image on every plan. For a UK trader with a London broker and up to four terminals, Smart at £28.43 a month with VAT is the cheapest plan here with ECC memory stated in writing.
On speed, the company makes two claims. The headline on its London page promises 1.06 to 1.12 ms to major UK and European brokers. Lower down, the broker table, marked “Data updated 2026-10-14 22:00 UTC”, put the four brokers it names at 1.65 to 2.1 ms [5]. Neither figure comes with a test method, both are the company’s own, and the page does not explain why its two figures for the same London server disagree; the table is the more specific of the two. Separately, LD3 is in Park Royal in West London, while the LD4 building that FxPro and Darwinex use is on the Slough Trading Estate [4], so orders to brokers in LD4 travel between the two campuses. The company’s full broker table puts Pepperstone Limited’s UK server at 2.75 ms from the same London machine.
Ordering is quick. The server is usually ready about five minutes after payment, and you install MetaTrader yourself over remote desktop. The homepage advertises round-the-clock support but sets no response time. Card, PayPal and crypto payments are accepted, and UK customers can be charged in sterling instead of dollars or euros. If you want to test first, three days on Smart in London, Amsterdam or New York cost $0.99, or £0.99 with pounds selected. A reminder email arrives before the trial ends. After that, the trial page quotes the renewal only in dollars, “31.99USD after trial period”, even with pounds selected, while Smart’s sterling list price is £23.69. The two list prices are set separately ($31.99 at the ECB rate would be £24.11), and the site does not say which currency the renewal is charged in, so check the invoice currency before the trial ends [5].
Best fit: one to ten MT4 or MT5 terminals near London broker servers, billed in pounds, where ECC memory and Windows Server 2025 matter. Less ideal if: your broker already sponsors your VPS, you need an uptime promise with service credits, or you want maintenance limited to a published window.
Strengths
- ECC memory stated on Smart, Boost and Max
- Windows Server 2025 Standard installed by default
- billing in pounds, with 20 to 40 percent off on longer terms
- a three-day trial in London for $0.99 or £0.99
- published latency to Pepperstone’s UK server
Limitations
- no published method for its latency tables, and the London page’s headline range and its own table disagree without explanation
- no uptime SLA or service credits, and the Terms disclaim liability for outages
- no published maintenance window, and the London page’s promise of no maintenance on trading days is not in the Terms
NYCServers

Infrastructure tier: trading VPS and dedicated servers
Locations: LD4 London, NY4 New York, TY3 Tokyo, SG1 Singapore, HK1 Hong Kong, DUB1 Dublin
NYCServers is the trading name of Greenhill Technologies Inc. It lists six data centres by code and runs its London VPS range in LD4, without naming the company that operates the building [6].
Three VPS sizes are sold month to month: Basic at $25.00 (2 cores, 2 GB of DDR5, 60 GB of NVMe), Standard at $40.00 (2 cores, 4 GB, 70 GB) and Professional at $60.00 (4 cores, 8 GB, 100 GB) [6]. For a UK consumer, Standard works out at £36.18 a month once VAT is added. A yearly commitment lowers the monthly equivalent to $20.83, $33.33 and $50.00, and a current promotion takes 20 percent off the first invoice. Invoices are in dollars, with taxes added where the law requires. NYCServers says nothing about ECC memory. Its Windows Server 2022 image includes the licence, and it advertises setup in 30 seconds.
For UK traders, its strongest point is timing. Planned work is kept to the hours when Forex is shut anyway, Friday 22:00 to Sunday 22:00 UK time, and customers hear about it at least 24 hours ahead. During market hours the SLA promises 100 percent availability. If that slips, credits start at 10 percent of the monthly fee and reach the full fee below 99.1 percent [6]. Urgent fixes are still allowed while markets are open. On the London page, FOREX.com appears at 1.02 ms from LD4, again with no method. A VPS can be refunded within 14 days, but only once per account, and there is no trial.
Strengths
- LD4 named as the London location
- planned maintenance limited to the Forex weekend in UK time
- uptime credits that apply during trading hours
- VPS ready in 30 seconds
Limitations
- ECC memory status not publicly specified
- Windows Server 2022 rather than 2025
- billing in US dollars only, which can add a card fee for sterling cards
- broker latency figures published without a method
- no trial, and only one refund per account
MyForexVPS

Infrastructure tier: Forex-focused Windows VPS
Locations: London, Amsterdam, New York, Singapore
MyForexVPS is run by ON2A FZ LLC, a company registered in Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, and dates its first server rack to Amsterdam in 2012 [7]. Its London page talks about “connectivity to the LD4 and LD8 London trading ecosystem” but does not say which building hosts its servers.
Gold has 2 cores, 4 GB of memory and 70 GB of SSD storage for three to six terminals, at $19.99 a month, or $15.99 with a new-customer code. That is £18.08 a month with VAT at list price, the lowest here. Silver, with 2 GB for one or two terminals, costs $14.99, and yearly billing takes 20 percent off [7]. You are billed in US dollars. The site does not say what you pay after a promotional month ends, and it does not say whether the memory is ECC.
Windows Server 2019 and 2022 are offered, but the site does not say whether the licence is included. The SLA document sets 99.99 percent uptime a month, with a 5 percent credit for each full hour of downtime up to the monthly fee, although the plan cards show 99.999 percent [7]. The maintenance window is not covered by the SLA and, during British Summer Time, runs past the Sunday open. The broker table lists GAIN Capital UK at 0.8 ms in a UK column, with no date or method. Live chat and email run 24/7, you can pay by card, PayPal, Skrill or cryptocurrency, and refunds are available within 7 days of activation.
Strengths
- the lowest list price for a 4 GB plan here
- an SLA with hourly service credits
- a broker latency table
- card, PayPal, Skrill and crypto payment
Limitations
- London data centre not named
- the maintenance window runs to 23:00 UK time on Sundays during British Summer Time and is not covered by the SLA
- ECC memory and Windows licence status not publicly specified
- SSD storage on all plans
- billing in US dollars only, with the price after a promotion not stated
- refunds limited to 7 days
AccuWeb Hosting

Infrastructure tier: managed Windows VPS from a general hosting company
Locations: London and more than 15 other VPS locations
AccuWeb Hosting is the trading name of Vaghasia Group, Inc. It sells fully managed Windows VPS, including a Forex range with London as one of its locations [8]. Its data centre page lists two London sites by internal code, UK-LON-02 and UK-LON-08, with ISO 27001 certification, but names no building or operator.
Forex VPS 3 has 4 virtual cores and 4 GB of memory for up to eight terminals. Storage is SSD, 45 GB according to AccuWeb’s own UK guide, and the site does not say whether the memory is ECC [8]. On October 15, 2026, the London price was $26.99 for the first invoice through an automatic promotion, then $47.00 a month. With VAT that is £24.41 for the first month and £42.51 after. The UK site shows prices in pounds but says the final charge is made in US dollars.
Windows Server 2019, 2022 and 2025 come with the licence included, and Server 2025 in London needs at least 3 GB of memory. The SLA sets 99.9 percent uptime a month, with credits of one, two or five days’ charges as availability falls, and leaves out scheduled maintenance without saying when it happens [8]. AccuWeb says latency from its London data centre to major UK and European brokers is under 5 ms, a general claim with no broker names or method. Support runs 24/7 by chat, ticket, email and phone, with a UK number. You pay by card or PayPal, not cryptocurrency. Refunds are available within 7 days, and there is no free Forex trial.
Strengths
- Windows licence included, with Server 2025 available in London
- a fully managed service with phone support, including a UK number
- an SLA with service credits
Limitations
- London data centre not named
- the price rises to $47.00 a month after a $26.99 first invoice
- ECC memory status not publicly specified
- SSD storage
- no latency figures for named brokers
- billing in US dollars only
- refunds limited to 7 days, with no Forex trial
Beeks

Infrastructure tier: retail VPS from an AIM-listed trading-infrastructure company
Retail VPS cities: London, Chicago, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, New York, Tokyo
Beeks Financial Cloud Group, quoted on London’s AIM market, mainly builds trading infrastructure for exchanges and banks, but it also keeps a small three-plan retail VPS store [9]. Most UK traders come across Beeks through a broker rather than the store. IG hosts its MT4 VPS with Beeks in London, FxPro and Tickmill send clients to BeeksFX, and Darwinex says BeeksFX servers are cross-connected inside the same LD4 building as its own [2].
Buying direct, Silver (2 virtual cores, 4,096 MB, 50 GB) is £55.00 a month before VAT, or £66.00 with it, and a year costs £550, which works out at two months free. Bronze is £31.00 and Gold £97.00 [9]. The older corporate VPS page still shows £32, £57 and £100, and Beeks’ terms bill in pounds by default. That page lists SSD storage and never mentions NVMe. London servers come with Windows Server 2022, but Beeks does not say whether the licence is in the price or which London building it uses. Expect one to two hours for setup on a market day and up to 24 hours at the weekend.
Beeks publishes no broker latency figures for its retail VPS, no uptime SLA and no maintenance window. Its terms exclude liability for outages and promise only best efforts on maintenance notices [9]. If you cancel within 24 hours of buying you get a refund; after that you owe the 30-day term. Support is advertised as 24/7 with live chat, and you can pay by card or PayPal.
Strengths
- the hosting behind IG’s MT4 VPS and the BeeksFX offers at FxPro and Tickmill
- billing in pounds
- London plus five other retail cities
Limitations
- SSD storage with no mention of NVMe
- refunds only within 24 hours
- setup can take up to 24 hours at weekends
- no published uptime SLA or maintenance window
- at £66.00 with VAT, the most expensive 4 GB plan here when bought directly
Mistakes that cost UK traders money
Paying for a VPS your broker would fund. An IG MT4 client with £5,000 or more in the account gets a Beeks VPS in London for free, instead of paying £50 a month [2]. Pepperstone and FxPro run their own sponsored or discounted schemes. Check your broker’s VPS page before you buy anything.
Comparing a first invoice with a monthly price. AccuWeb’s $26.99 London price covers the first invoice only and then rises to $47.00, which takes the cost with VAT from £24.41 to £42.51 a month [8]. MyForexVPS’s $15.99 code is for new customers, and NYCServers’ 20 percent discount applies to the first invoice only.
Forgetting VAT. Businesses outside the UK that sell web hosting to UK consumers must register for UK VAT, whatever their turnover, and charge the 20 percent standard rate [10]. VPSForexTrader and Beeks quote prices before VAT. That turns Beeks Silver’s £55.00 into £66.00 and VPSForexTrader Smart’s £23.69 into £28.43.
Paying a dollar plan with a sterling card. Barclays charges 2.99 percent on debit card payments in a foreign currency, including on non-UK websites, and NatWest charges 2.75 percent [12]. On AccuWeb’s renewal price that adds about £15 a year. Billing in pounds avoids the fee.
Buying too little memory. Microsoft’s minimum for Windows Server 2025 with the desktop is 2 GB, and its recommendation is 4 GB [3]. Each MetaTrader terminal then adds its own load, and MetaQuotes notes that long chart history and indicators can take hundreds of megabytes. NYCServers and MyForexVPS both pitch their 2 GB plans at one or two accounts [6][7]. Stepping up to 4 GB costs an extra £4.52 a month at MyForexVPS and £13.57 at NYCServers, VAT included.
Ignoring Sunday evening. A maintenance window that ends at 23:00 UK time overlaps both the 22:00 market open and IG’s 21:00 FX open. If your EA trades the Sunday gap, pick a host whose window ends before the market reopens.
Which provider fits which trader
If your broker names a London server on its current website, as CMC Markets, FxPro, Darwinex, Vantage UK and ThinkMarkets do, and you run one EA or up to four terminals, VPSForexTrader Smart fits at £23.69 a month before VAT. Tickmill clients should confirm the location first, because its London statement dates from 2023. Paying for 24 months brings that down to £14.22 a month. The £0.99 trial lets you log in from London and check the ping to your own broker before you pay for a month.
More terminals need more room. Boost, at £40.73 before VAT, handles five to seven, with 6 GB of ECC memory and a daily backup, and it also suits charts with years of history or heavy indicators. Max, at £59.25, takes eight to ten terminals on 8 GB of ECC memory and 250 GB of NVMe.
If your broker publishes nothing, provider latency tables are the next clue. Pepperstone’s UK server is 2.75 ms from VPSForexTrader’s London server, while Swissquote Ltd’s live servers are about 21 ms away, so a London VPS gains less there [5]. The surest answer is to ask your broker’s support team which data centre hosts your account before you order.
One case falls outside this comparison. If your balance or trading volume already qualifies you for a broker-sponsored VPS, such as IG’s MT4 hosting above £5,000, that free VPS is the cheaper choice [2].
Three findings from this comparison
For UK traders, reliability matters more than latency. Full fibre already reaches London in 4.9 to 7.3 ms, so a London VPS saves only a few milliseconds. What it does remove is the risk in Ofcom’s fault data: 44 faults a month for every 1,000 customers in 2024, and an average of one day to fix a total loss of service [1].
The weekend is where hosts differ most. NYCServers keeps maintenance between Friday 22:00 and Sunday 22:00 UK time, MyForexVPS runs to 23:00 on Sundays during British Summer Time, and three of the five publish no window at all [6][7].
Broker sponsorship changes the price comparison more than any plan does. Three FCA brokers, IG, FxPro and Tickmill, point clients to Beeks hosting, and IG makes its London VPS free above £5,000 [2]. Where no sponsorship applies, VPSForexTrader is the only host here that states ECC memory on every plan and installs Windows Server 2025 as standard, at £28.43 a month with VAT.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Forex VPS if I have full fibre broadband in the UK?
Probably, though the reason is uptime rather than speed. In Ofcom’s March 2023 tests, full fibre reached a London test server in 4.9 to 7.3 ms [1]. On October 15, 2026, VPSForexTrader’s own table put its London server 1.65 to 2.1 ms from the brokers named on its London page [5]. That is a vendor figure, and the difference is only a few milliseconds. What you really gain is an EA that keeps trading when your broadband, router or PC goes down. In 2024, a total loss of service took a day to repair on average [1].
Which London data centre are UK Forex broker servers in?
FxPro and Darwinex name Equinix LD4 in Slough, and ThinkMarkets names LD4 and LD5. Tickmill named LD4 in a 2023 post, and CMC Markets says only that its server is in London. Nine of the 15 FCA-authorised firms we checked publish nothing [2]. VPSForexTrader’s London VPS is in Equinix LD3 in Park Royal, and NYCServers’ is in LD4 [5][6].
What does a London Forex VPS cost per month in pounds with VAT?
VPSForexTrader Smart costs £23.69 a month before VAT and £28.43 with it, or £14.22 a month before VAT if you pay for 24 months [5]. The other 4 GB plans here range from £18.08 for MyForexVPS Gold at list price to £66.00 for Beeks Silver, with VAT, using the European Central Bank rate of $1.3267 per pound on October 14, 2026 [11].
Do overseas VPS providers charge UK VAT?
They should, if you buy as a consumer. HMRC treats web hosting as an electronic service taxed where the consumer lives, and businesses outside the UK must register for UK VAT whatever their turnover [10]. Business customers with a UK VAT number account for the VAT themselves under the reverse charge. None of the five providers explains its UK VAT handling publicly, so check the invoice at checkout.
Can my broker give me a free VPS?
Several FCA-authorised brokers sponsor or discount one [2]:
- IG: MT4 VPS hosted by Beeks in London, free with an MT4 balance of £5,000 or more, otherwise £50 a month; MT5 hosting free with £1,000 and one trade in 28 days;
- Pepperstone: free for UK clients trading USD 1,000,000 notional in 60 days;
- FxPro: BeeksFX hosting at $30 a month, free for VIP and Elite accounts;
- FXCM UK: included with an Active Trader account;
- Tickmill UK: BeeksFX at a 20 percent discount.
What happens to my EA during weekend VPS maintenance?
A restart inside the Forex weekend costs nothing, as long as MetaTrader and the EA start again on their own. NYCServers keeps planned work between Friday 22:00 and Sunday 22:00 UK time [6]. MyForexVPS’s window runs to 22:00 GMT on Sunday, which is 23:00 during British Summer Time [7]. VPSForexTrader says it does not take servers down on active trading days but publishes no window [5]. Set MetaTrader to start with Windows, and check that your EA reloads after a restart.

Editorial note
We gathered the specifications, prices, maintenance and refund terms and broker server statements in this guide from provider, broker, regulator and government websites on October 14 and 15, 2026. Dollar amounts are converted to pounds at the European Central Bank rate of October 14, 2026. Promotions come and go, so confirm the final amount at checkout. Millisecond figures published by VPS providers are their own claims, and we have not reproduced them. Ofcom’s numbers describe home lines reaching London test servers in March 2023, not routes to any broker, and brokers can move servers or change sponsored VPS terms at any time. This guide covers trading infrastructure only and does not constitute financial advice: trading performance depends on broker execution quality, market conditions, and trader skill, none of which a VPS can fully control. If you spot an error, tell us through the contact page and we will record the fix in the change log.
Change log
October 15, 2026: first version. Prices, specifications, broker server statements, maintenance terms and exchange rates captured on October 14 and 15, 2026. Before publication: broker counts aligned across sections (Tickmill’s statement marked as dated, ThinkMarkets added to the routing list), Darwinex’s statement described as a location statement rather than a Beeks referral, the VPS latency range in the introduction widened to match the figures cited, and the trial renewal currency clarified.
